Monterey (CA) Scottish Games
Anyone going to the Monterey Games & Festival on July 7-8? We're planning on making a weekend of it.

I thought I might amble down that way (read: hours of teeth-gritting highway action) to check it out.
I've never been to a highland games. What should I expect or bring? Lawn chair? Anything else?

We can talk about it over a pint at the DCB tomorrow night.
Cheers

WOOT!! Didnt know about this one. I think the wife and I will take the trip on Saturday night, then I will be competing on Sunday if I can still get in. If plans firm up I would love to try to arrange an Xmarks dinner.

I was in Monterey CA with the family today at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I could tell there was something different in the air.
I received a lot of positive comments from the staff there and at "Bubba Gumps" restaurant. But that was hardly different from my other excursions there.
There was a very well dressed musician crossing the street that seemed a little out of the norm for Cannery Row:
I checked the free local paper to see if there was something going on:
The lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess has seen fit to give me a day off so I think I will hop into my blue convertible and check things out Sunday.
Cheers

Bummer....
Sadly, we will not be in attendance.
This weekend will be filled with celebrating the Little Celtic Dancer's 18th birthday.
Much to do on Saturday to get ready and family stuff and cake on Sunday!
To all that are going-
Enjoy the day and use your sunblock!
