Out in public. Yes indeed.
Today I took my new trail dog, Rufus, up to the Blue Ridge Parkway to see how he would do in public. Here at the homestead he is a great dog, as smart as they come. Turns out he doesn't like cars passing close, and especially doesn't like motorcycles. (For those of you who don't already know it, the Blue Ridge Parkway is infested with motorcycles this time of year. And no one need be offended by "infested". I used to ride up there myself long before it was the fashionable thing to do).
So after wrestling with the dog for an hour or so we make it back to the truck. I'm letting him cool down, take a whiz, and so forth when a vehicle (my back was to the road) cruises by and I hear a long, loud, and perfectly in tune wolf whistle. I didn't even bother to look around. In all my decades of kiltedness that might have been the third or fourth time I've drawn a whistle. But as a musician I do appreciate that it was in tune .

Whilst with another kilted friend in a pub a woman did ask if we wanted to borrow her waxing kit. I felt like saying 'No thanks, I'm sure you need it more than me', but didn't.
I think a bow best acknowledges a compliment on your legs, rather than a curtsey.
