You guys! Never occured to me that it'd be taken that way...every time I do it I think to myself, "Just like saddling a horse."

Think the title change happened this week TB...surprised me...especially the "gentleman" part...

Well, I think it's nifty and quite fitting. Goes good with your recent avatar.

Stop buckling the sporran so tight!

Hmmm....I don my sporran first, then the belt over that. Rather than cinching up, the other day I actually found myself letting my kilt belt out a notch; I'm quite sure the damned thing's shrunk a bit...

I completely understand the reference, Ron. Having grown up around horses I know EXACTLY what you're talking about.*

I don't know why it happens with your belt though. I don't know that I have to faten my belt one notch looser when I first get up in the morning, then tighten it after a couple of hours. Of course, if I eat enough during the day, it has to be loosened again.

*For those who have not saddled a horse, the horse will tense up when the saddle is put on. After he relaxes, you have to retighten the cinch strap. If you don't, you will most likely find yourself on the ground.

I frequently go without a belt, just a sporran on a "strap" that's an oversized (length not width) Carharrt belt, but with my buckles and straps type kilts, I'll frequently have to cinch 'em up after I'm out and about some.

I wasn't worried about Ron getting the boot, but I still missed the intent. I thought maybe he was referring to the amount of gear he was putting on.

Usually there's no mid-day tightening needed here.

First, congrats on the new title to match your fancy new avatar.
Second, I have the same problem with one of my buckle kilts.
And if I forget to tighten up I find my kilt sliding down throughout the day.
I figured I'd just lost weight...
