I understand a couple of Congressmen have worn their kilts on Tartan Day.

That would be Commander Alan Bean of Apollo 12. He did not leave the tartan on the moon, though, as this article from the Clan MacBean Society's web site explains:

In 2005, Alan Bean said this:
As I remember it, I took Clan McBean Tartan to the moon and returned it to Earth. I did not leave any Clan McBean Tartan on the surface. I did, in fact, give a piece of the Tartan to the Clan McBean and also to the St. Bean Chapel in Scotland. And I've still got some of it in my possession. I did not, however leave any of it on the moon.

At various Highland Games here in Ontario, the local police are sometimes kilted on duty, which looks really cool as you can imagine.
I don't have any pics and there was a thread about this a while back too.

I found that in the Cairngorms, in Winter, kilted skiers were not unusual as there were a few more kilties about and apparently its a common sight.
Yes, I've seen a kilted skier on the Cairngorms too.
Back in 1979, long before I ever got into a kilt myself, I was part of a Town Twinning delegation which went to a trade fair in Holland to promote the products of our local businesses and several of the delegation wore kilts throughout, which made an unexpected sight out and about on the streets of Alphen-ad-Rijn where we were staying.

That would be Ozone. He uses one of his pics as his av.

Maybe not Scottish but the PD in Estes Park, CO typically wear the Estes Park tartan during the highland games the second weekend of September every year. Not the reserve or auxillery but the regular officers.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle.... they'll do anything for a vote. I wonder if they wear them any other time.

I have for some reason been having a near insuppressible urge to go swimming in my kilt lately... not quite scuba, but then again, I don't know how to scuba... I'd be up for learning though and then trying it in a kilt!

Kilts in unexpected places
[QUOTE=McClef;396655]I wonder if he even has one, never seen a picture of him wearing one in any situation. He didn't wear one at his wedding.
In fact to cast the net a bit wider, the numbers of photographs of kilted Scottish politicians is somewhat limited.
There was an MP (now deceased), named Nicholas Fairbairn, who did wear a kilt frequently, but he seems to be somewhat of an exception.[/QU
Mind you after the then First Minister, Jack McConnell's disastrous soujourn in a kilt at last year's Tartan Day in New York, perhaps its better we do not see our politicians kilted, although our new First Minister Alex Salmond has frequently worn a kilt and it suits him
Your point about Scottish policemen in kilts is interesting, I would be very interested to find out if there ever was an occasion when policemen in Scotland wore their kilts on duty although we know that a great deal of Scots policemen have their own kilts and of course police pipe bands are commonplace.
Of course I think it would be difficult to take kilted police on duty seriously especially on a Saturday night in Sauchiehall Street. I find that I cannot take police cyclists with their luducrious lycra shorts seriously, I think if they were arresting me I would go into fits of laughter
