Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The movie series might benefit from a directors cut DVD that includes more events from the book ala The Lord Of The Rings. I liked the LOTR DVDs so much better than the theatrical releases because they added the extra footage. Not sure whether we'll ever see a longer version of Order Of The Phoenix but it would probably pull the film closer to the book.

I was thinking about how much I liked these earlier (as I was watching one of them coincidentally). I think you're right, it would be very cool to see the HP series in "directors cuts". Maybe when they come out as a final 7 movie set... maybe...

That's what I'm waiting for, But I will be going Saturday to see the movie

Unfortunately, the first two movies were really made for a broader (read younger) audience and any attempt at character developement and clever subtext was traded for easy to follow plot lines and in-your-face simple dialog. I do appreciate how the latter films have matured a bit. Ultimately the series was made for younger readers, but it has grown to be embraced by people from every generation. The DVDs should reflect that but, so far, they have not.

I think the way to do these books properly onscreen would be to do an HBO series, with one book per viewing season. The first couple of books might have to be fleshed out a little, but that's okay with me.

I went last night to see it and I went KILTED. I LOved the movie Just as I have loved all of them.

Marilyn and I saw the OOTP today and she understood the movie. She has not read the book and she liked the movie. I have read the books and I am not so happy about the editing of the movie. The screen play did not come up to my expectations. Luna was not developed as well as she should have been. I have to agree about Chow not finking on the Army. The joke about the goat I got but I read the book and I did have to explane that to Marilyn. I feel the director was too influnced by the Corporation of the film and WB.

There are programs on out TV here in the UK about the making of the films, concentrating on the latest one.

The one today was about the costumes, and how they are 'aged' and altered for the filming. It can be difficult to get the multiple versions of the costumes to look the same - some have replaceble parts.

Apparently the Lord Voldemort costume is 7 metres of silk, robes for the flying sequences are made longer and lighter than normal for best screen effect...

As creating garments is my 'thing' I suspect that I will find the film itself less interesting than the making of the wardrobe for it.

I sincerely doubt it's genuine. They've taken huge precautions with this book, including things like having the people printing it working in the dark, so they can't see what's on the pages.

Last night on the news they reported that photos of some of the pages have been leaked and J.k. Rowlings lawyers are suing photo bucket.
