People let's not get too critical here on the poses. They're just slices of time and if you use your imaginations, they can work.
For example:
Corwin has drawn the line and is pretty relaxed. He wants to draw you in. It looks like he has no room to move but he can wheel to his left, leaving you an empty target. You will rush past and soon be overcome by the narcotic plants to the right of the arbour. They were smuggled from the secret farms of BC and you will be snoring soundly and wake up very hungry.
Kendra is rejoicing in battle lust. She has disarmed you and is about to hurl your sword behind her. Unless you fall to your knees before her in total surrender, her war cry will be the last sound you hear as the flash of her axe will be the last light you see before everything becomes red, ...and quiet. Celtic Women, defenders of the arbours, are not to be trifled with.

Somehow Panache's pose reminds me of Herger the Joyous with his battle against the big redhead in The Thirteenth Warrior. "Oh yeah, I don't know what I'm doing here, yeah, just come blundering in, oh my, is this a sword in my hand?"

Quite the stylish blades. If the threat of your cutlery doesn't give one pause then they will be dazzled by your sartorial splendor. Have a good time.

Love the photos. I'm sure I'd run if I saw you two coming.

After a year of fencing in college (Saber, and the only leftie in the room) and an additional year in Veterinary school (foil, and again the only leftie in the room), I determined that I am NOT a swordswoman, so enjoy my husband's collection just for show. Besides, it's not the blades I was trying to show off!

the roads we choose...
I started fencing in Scotland at some military academy (walking distance from Oxgangs?) when I was about 7. There was nothing between 9 and 13, but when we moved to London, I trained with the Olympic team. The summer I was invited to the Olympic training program was the same summer I discovered girls and motorcycles ...and that has made all the difference.
Looking back, I think there was probably a way to work them all out.
And, lefties, I'm ambidextrous. I was the sparring partner for one of the top competitors to help him because it's a nightmare when lefty meets lefty: it so rarely happens.

One of my friends is a leftie fencer (much better than I ever was) and when we would pair up, it was always a disaster, because we never got to fence other lefties! Reminds me of the bit in Princess Bride, "I'm not left handed either!"
Be well,
