The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
Our baby girl is finally here: Sara Roisin Fitzsimmons was born July 14, 2007 at 7:44 pm (6 lbs and 9 oz, 21"). I never knew I could feel such happiness!!!
Sara Roisin was 6 days late and born via "c-section" (but not breached or anything); the OB agreed (with us) that she was stubborn and just didn't want to come out. Regardless, she's doing very well, as are her Mommy and Daddy. We're both still reeling...its almost unbelievable that God has blessed us with such beauty and wonder.
I was so overcome with emotion when I first saw her face...and I still am. When Sara Roisin grabbed my thumb while opening her eyes for the first time (see 2nd pic), she looked me right in the eyes, smiled at me and I almost fainted (literally). Can you tell I'm one proud Papa??
Since I'm home this morning, here's a few pics (I'll post more when I have the time):
In the "baby warmer", still trying to open here eyes...
Stealing her Daddy's heart with just a smile...
She's everything I've hoped for...
Handing Sara Roisin to her Mommy...
My whole life in one photograph...
I've been in tears the whole time writing this, but thanks for letting me share this beautiful moment...our Little Rose is finally here (more sobbing over here).
P.S. In case you're wondering, her middle name "Roisin" is Gaelic Irish and pronounced ro-sheen. The name means "little rose".

Jeff,
Congradulations! Our first was also a girl, and let me say your story really brought back memories. She just turned 5 last week, and I can still remember the very first time I saw her face as she was being born. Love at first sight! There is something special between a daddy and his little girl that just can't be described. You know it now, and it will grow more than you imagine as the years go by.
Aye,
Matt
(expecting No. 4 on Aug. 31).

You're one lucky man. And just as proud, happy and tearful as you should be.

She's a beautiflu girl. Congratulations to you and your wife. It isn't always the easiest thing to raise children, but I can't think of any grander adventure.
Cheers
