    bowler hats

yes, i know hamish says not to.

however, in the right situation, i think you can pull it off. i'm thinking very specifically of a deliberately peculiar ensemble i put together last year ( i WISH i had pictures, but i don't) consisting of:

    black kilt
    black leather sporran
    black shirt
    silver necklace
    black leather jacket
    black leather combat boots
several thin silver chains arranged in a such a way that they fell like wallet chains down my left leg (not past the hem of the kilt, though)

i finished the outfit with a black bowler hat. the resulting effect was... non-traditional. i looked rather Clockwork Orange meets Metallica.

you may all shun me now. i give you permission.

btw, hamish my man, when is your photo album coming back online? i've been trying to prove how awesome the kilt is to several friends and i need your vast collection to demonstrate the versatility...

Hey, it is kind of you to say that, but I wish I knew myself!! It is entirely outside of my control (Ron, is in the same boat). We both have photo albums at IMFF.com but the webmaster there tells me he is having to re-jig his server (this is now getting technical and I am wallowing) and whilst he does that, in his spare time, the whole site is down - the forum, everything - not just the photo albums. The last I heard was that he hoped to have everything restored by July 14/15!!!

I also need that album back up and running as I have images of, I think, six or seven new kilts to put there. Believe me, I will announce it to the world as soon as it is on-line again!

What I should REALLY like is to have my own website where I could have a photo album entirely under my control - but I have not the faintest idea, or knowledge, of how to go about that. Any brave soul care to take me on?
