Okay, finally got my personal obligations sorted out and made reservations down in Flag for Saturday night. Hope to get an early start and be there at a reasonable time. Laying over Sat night and headed home Sunday.
My lady is coming in from Hopi too, she has a "hair appointment" sometime Saturday I think.
Anyway, hopefully I'll do a better job of finding you rabble this year. Maybe I should go topless and you could just look for an olde pregnant looking guy with a sea turtle tat on his back. Might send the children running in terror though and I'd hate to keep the little ones from their heritage.

I'll most likely be wearing my Navy tartan kilt, and my USS Papago ball cap.

Recapping: re who's going
Lemme see if I tallied this right:
Ayin McFye - maybe, but may be at SCA Highland War
Mr. MacDougall - Navy tartan kilt, and my USS Papago ball cap, compass rose over his heart
drobin -darren
Retro Red - coming up for Friday pm whisky tasting in town, plus both Game days.
Riverkilt-Ron & His Lady coming in Sat, layover and return home Sun
pbperrsson-Phil - maybe
Ialtog - volunteer for the event, see NACHS tent, Plants/Geology tent, and wkshops. Look for volunteer lanyard and Ulster box-pleated kilt.
And I have a question: last year there was (also?) a whiskey tasting located at the back of the largest entertainment 'tent'/stage. I saw in the initial info for THIS year, there is whiskey tasting event IN town. Does this mean they will NOT be offering it at the actual games site this year (and that it's being held in town instead, and only on Friday night)?
I'll be limping up in the stupid Esquirt somewhere around 3am 'tonight' (meaning Friday pre-sunrise). Hopefully I can get out of here tonight in time to make it to Scratchy's (Jay) before he leaves for work Fri morning.

There will be an official tasting, which will be taking place in the dining tent. I *think* the times are 1pm and 3pm on Saturday only. There will be a charge for that. Also, like usual, we will have our "Spirits of the Celtic Regions" on sale at the Celtic Tavern tent as well.

No, I'll be wearing my USS Papago ball cap. I don't know where you keep yours. ;)
And every time someone says something that came out of a thread I've long forgotten, it surprises me that anyone's paying that much attention... and I'm not actually planning on showing anyone my tattoo, so it's not much good as an identifier. 8)

Finally had some time to get organized. Gonna wear my Macdonald Lord of the Isles since its the lightest hand sewn I own.
But no kilt hose, no sweaters...just Tevas and a rivershirt and probably my big buffalo sporran.
Probably should switch to an X Marks kilt pin...but just look for the olde fat guy in long hair. Not sure if my lady will be with me yet...but if she is there'll be a lot of RED hair near me.

Grumble Grumble
Did make it down to the games...made two passes, Sat morning during the monsoons and hail - not much shopping as the few vendors at the games buttoned up trying to keep their wares dry. Another scant year for vendors. Came back Saturday afternoon for the mud. Parking was a nightmare. Never did find Ialtog's tent.
The pipe band parade was HUGE....guessing a hundred or more...left my camera in the car though.
Did connect with Retro Red and his wife and Scratchy and MacDougall...if I missed anyone sorry.
Did manage to find a Macdonald tartan tam. Occured to me later that my Grandfather Murdoch Macdonald had one like it. Kinda nice.
Had delicious buffalo steak for dinner at Little America with my lady and her daughter and daughter's boyfriend. On the way home though some speedy youngster collided with my front end...hard to explain the events, and not relevant here...but he was WAY in the wrong and I got the ticket because the cops couldn't believe anyone was that weird. So now, deep in the throws of insurance adjusters. Fortunately the car was driveable and I've made it home to Page.
Sad, the miserable weather made for poor socializing with other X Markers. Raised in Oregon I'm not much bothered by rain...but the marble sized hail did get my attention.

OK, I am officially an idiot
I really really need to learn to read emails better. I just completely messed up everything. I thought that they were next weekend so I just changed everything around to be able to make it and it was this weekend that just passed!!!! I could have totally come up this past weekend!! GRRR!!!! that's what I get for assuming it was next weekend this entire time. My girlfriend and I were going to head up on Saturday morning, and hang around all day long and share pints with all of you, but NO!!! Now that won't happen. II could ramble and rant all day on this, but it's probably best for me to cool down, since i just found all this out. I logged on to get directions this morning, and realized that I missed it.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, Ron! It was nice to meet you on Saturday, I'm just sorry you didn't have more time to spend chatting!
I spent a couple of hours hanging around with Scratchy & Lass, which was fun. They were great folks, and I look forward to seeing them again, perhaps at the Phoenix games in February.

Yes, weather there indeed was!
That hail storm was definately an attention-getter.
Ron, sorry we didn't get to chat much and SO sorry about the car! Jeez!
Mr. Mac- was fun palling around! Ialtog, glad we found your tent, but sorry we missed the Salt presentation. By the end of Sunday, my colitis was beyond uproar, and it was time to git.
Ayin- I've done the same thing, calendar-wise...it is maddening! We'll just have to take the next opportunity to get together, for sure!
And guess what I found toward the end of Saturday? On a used rack for a mere $50!!
I'm looking forward to having it dry cleaned when I'm back down in the Valley Of Heat and Dust, and to wearing it out to a kilt night along with some killer heels (Short people...need....high heels.....short people....need..high..heels..... )
