    SWK size

I ordered from Jerry at SWK MacLaren Tartan Thrifty-Kilt a size Large 38-42.
I am a 40- 41 and it was to small so I ordered a xl and gave the Kilt to my friend Brett. It fit him fine but it does need to be hemed, here is the rub. His wife wants the kilt and don't hem it
So he got it out of the house and brought it to me to hem and told me his wife can get her own.
    Ain't wearing a kilt a hoot.

Odd, my SWK's seem just a tiny bit generous - except the thrifty. Maybe it is a different pattern/formula? I thought it was just me. Do you have any other stillwaters to compare to?

    Just curious -

I have 1 economy 2 standards and 1 heavy weight all size 40 and they fit me fine.
The thrifty's apron was just to small so I ordered the next size up and I hope it gets here today. I talked to Jerry and he said if you are at the high end of the scale get the next size up for the Thrifty. He also mentioned that he will most likely be getting rid of the economy and just carrying the thriftys.
If you like the Economy with the the buckle setup best get it now.

All my SWK fit just fine. Are you trying to wear it on your hips instead of true waist (just above belly button)?

    Nope.
Like I said it is the Thrifty that was a little small.
I got the XL in yesterday and it fit great. I like a full apron and because I am at the small end of the XL it is a FULL apron. I also sewed down the pleats to the fell of 6" before I took out the thread holding the pleats.
Did the same for my friends kilt and shortened it also using green thread.
