The top shop is still an interesting place to wander through, it's a bit like a Tardis! Pity to hear who the new landlords of the site are though...
And the scaffolding - it takes ages to take down too - it was still up last October, two months after the Tattoo!

Oh, I agree it is fascinating. Regardless of what I said, I still go there (almost) every time I am in the City. You are so right, Trefor, it IS like a tardis!!

I believe they also use the Tattoo 'arena' for pop concerts and the like, either before or following the Tattoo itself.
Hmmmn! I seem to remember reading somewhere, a while back, that the scaffolding is to be replaced soon with specially designed, demountable units which can be errected and dismantled in less than a week each time. I am not sure, actually, which is worse: the scaffolding or the masses of tourists' coaches which park on the Esplanade when the scaffolding is not in place!

Well I don't think that coaches would have the same effect on the view Hamish!

I will (finally) end this with the one picture that I found to be pretty much outstanding out of all the pics that we took:
An nice photo of Edinburgh taken from Princes' Street looking east across to the old city. Arthur's Seat is in the background with Holyrood Palace and the Scotish Parliament somewhere hidden at the bottom of the hill behind the old city buildings.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the pics. I'm not very good at telling a story and goodness knows I'm not Alex or P1M as a photographer. I just hope that someone can use these to plan a bit of a vacation. Ya know...looking at this one pic...I think I finally got something right.
Enjoy!
