NASGA is a good starting point for getting information.
You'll want to be getting some exercise...hit the weight room for a couple weeks, and practice a few times before getting out there in your first Games. Some of the events come fairly naturally. I mean, to get GOOD is one thing, but to fling the weight in some of the events isn't a big deal.
For example, the weight over the bar is reasonably intuitive. Same for hammer. but the weights for distance are ANY-thing but intuitive and take a lot of practice. Stone is somewhere in between. Caber, to my mind, is not terribly intuitive. So get/make some practice gear, and watch google videos and youtube videos, and if you can possibly work out a few times with guys that have done this for a while, DO it.

I have a power lifting background, so i just need to get back into shape a little. We just had a baby so I haven't been to the gym at all. The strength part comes back pretty fast.
Thanks for all the links.
