Most interesting color combination, perhaps something for Philadelphia Eagles fans over here.
Maybe its just the pics, the weight of the cloth appears light, do you know the weight of the fabric Ham?

I do, Ron, and this is how I described it in the text above the photos in my post:
"The 16oz fabric is an unusual (to me) blend of wool (80%) and acryllic (20%) which is woven in Eastern Europe. It is surprisingly soft considering the presence of acryllic and holds the 28 sharp knife-pleats very well - I was also pleased to see the reverse pleat as standard. The three buckles and straps are of good quality, the kilt is lined where kilts should be lined and there is a neat double fringe to the wide apron."
This is quite a 'bulky' fabric, Ron, and is not one that could be described as "light". I suspect it is the small acryllic content that is behind that, but I have never worn acryllic before and so cannot speak from experience.

It is a nice looking tartan, and the shipping and price seem top notch, my only concern is the acrylic, as I do not have any acrylic kilts, I hope it does well for you Hamish, as it really is a handsome tartan, and looks good on you.

Very handsome. I am now wishing I could order one! But with tuition for the semester due next week, I am afraid that I am a few months out from getting another kilt.
Thanks for the review and the pictures! I still need to get some up of my little man and I. Sometime soon, I promise.

Duuuuh...sorry Ham, I looked right at it and it just didn't register. Sometimes my aged, besotted, brain pan just fogs out.
Must be the camera or the light or my monitor, just looked lighter weight to me on this end and when I went looking for the weight missed the obvious.

A good looking kilt Hamish and I wish you health to wear it. It does look like a dress tartan as you say. Only 20 more to go for your "century" now.

Another nice one, Hamish, and as ever, you wear it well. It does look like a 'dress' tartan as you say. How much does the colour change under artificial light?
Best regards

Congratulations on your #80 Hamish!
It looks very good and makes me look forward to seeing one and probably acquiring kilt #21 when Richard calls by tomorrow afternoon.
Officially for tea and chocolate biscuits but I suspect he is going to be leaving one kilt lighter and some extra cash in his pocket!

As usual, a beautiful kilt.
You look just grand in it, Hamish.
