Chief John who dearly loved Dunvegan and the Cuillan (sp) Range, wanted the sale of one treasure to finance the repair of another. He saw it is a win win for the MacLeods and the surrounding area. It seems as is son Hugh will be keeping his fathers wishes.
Dunvegan is, I believe, one of the oldest continually inhabited (by the same family) castles in Scotland (and maybe the UK, please correct me if I am wrong). It is a beautiful place.
