Good shots Dee. Thanks for sharing them. I agree with your observation of the last image, it is a cracker. Next time you visit the other one, take a look at the Edinburgh thread in the Scrapbook. Maitland was in Edinburgh last Friday and nearly took the very same picture as you.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the pics. I'm not very good at telling a story and goodness knows I'm not Alex or P1M as a photographer. I just hope that someone can use these to plan a bit of a vacation. Ya know...looking at this one pic...I think I finally got something right.
Enjoy!

You sure did Dee it would make a wonderful postcard.

That same 'Braveheart' fellow has been outside the Old Town Weaving Mill building, rain or shine, for years. Always posing for or with tourists and always claiming to be collecting for charity. If he was not legit I think he would have been sussed out by now! He does not appear to be of pensionable age, so quite how he exists, I have no idea.

No Dee, as Hamish says he has been there for a long time and would certainly have been sussed as a con merchant.
You can even buy postcards of him and also fridge magnets (I have two)!
Interestingly he claims to be the cousin of the Crown Princess of Denmark but she is an Australian whose parents came from Scotland so you never know!

I've never seen this guy although I've never seen the weaving mill either (and I live in the place!). Usual story though isn't it. Loved the photos and you were lucky with the weather particularly that shot in the gardens looking towards the North Bridge with the Scotsman hotel on the right.
