First kilt? Very exciting! Ditto kilt height - here in the states mid knee seems the norm, across the pond its the top of the knee. A solid shirt will make things easier on the eye and of course a belt and sporran complete the outfit and break things up visually. Don't worry, all this stufff will come in time. The most important thing is you're wearing a kilt!!!!!

    Have fun.

I forgot to mention the hose. McMurdo turned me onto this site for decent and inexpensive hose.

I just CANNOT BELIEVE that no one has pointed out that he's wearing the kilt inside out!

    You look good.
5'11" seems to me to be about the shortest height to most readily hold up the SWK. Shorter folk may want to consider making the kilt a couple of inches shorter. I'm 6' 0" and the length rides a bit high waist for me to get the kilt bottom to the knee top.
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Butchyeah. I would only change the shirt. Plain black shirts are your friend.

Also, mean boots go really, really well with kilts.
