I've been here for a week and been enjoying the postings. I've been wearing kilts for the last ten years. My favorites are my Great Plaids. There's just something about doing your own pleating, lying down and wrapping up!
My favorite Kilt photo, on the grounds of Duntrune Castle. The home of Chief Robin Malcolm, Poltalloch, Scotland.
Wearing my Robertson tartan with the Mid-Atlantic branch of the Donnachaidh Clan at 2007 Grandfather's Mountain Highland Games.
Ever hear the ghost story of Duntrune Castle? I wrote a song called Warning about that is going to be on our next cd.
Welcome. My mother was from your area - Culpeper to be precise. She's where my Gordon blood comes from.
Turpin,
I visited the House of Gordon tent last month at Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. I met Morris Gordon the President of the Virginia branch. I mentioned to to Morris my Grandfather's mother was a Morris (being a Malcolm I find the name Malcolm as first and family names.)
Morris told me with that family link I qualified to be a member of the House of Gordon! I've submitted my application for membership.
With Morris Gordon at the House of Gordon tent. [My first kilt.]
