Jeeze Phil how old were you when you met your first wife - 12? I haven't had a 28" waist since... well I'm not sure I ever had a 28" waist!

Fully Formal or not I dig the look of these jackets and I'd love own one. I don't care if everyone looked down their noses at me, I'd show up in one in a heart beat.

Mine went up to 34" as well, (true waist 36") funny how kilts shrink hanging in the closet too.

I didn't say I gave up smoking 7 years ago and immediately put 4" on my waist. But to go back to the sheriffmuir jacket it just gets wider and wider apart and still looks good (a bit like the parting in my hair).

For $90 Sport Kilt sells a leather one:

It looks pretty smart, a little costume-like, but smart.

    Cheers

    Alan,

    Here is another option:

    http://www.pendragoncostumes.com/Mer...Code=adoublets

Look at the "Celtic" model doublet in the top left hand corner.

That looks like it would fit the bill nicely.

I think that Pendragon Leather often come to Highland Games so you could check them out yourself. The lovely F-H.C.A.G. has a bodice from them and it is well made and looks sensational on her (but then again most things do )

    Cheers
