Closest I have been to Liverpool recently was when I went with Mum to New Brighton on the Wirral about 3 weeks ago but you could still see the iconic buildings from there!

is there still a small island shaped like the UK in the basin?
I didn't see one at the Colonnades, but there are other dock basins so it could have been in one of those. There are tours on ex military DUKW amphibian vehicles which splash into the water at the colonnades and cruise around the various basins - looked like fun but I didn't have time to sample it.

My Mum was a Liverpublian who came to the US with her new husband my Dad. Yesterday, was her birthday and I posted on this blog about her.
As a kid I use to tell my friends my Mum baby sitted for Paul McCartney. In my 1970 visit to Liverpool, I went clubbing at the Caverns where the Beatles got their start.
Thanks for the memories.

I may have a picture of it on one of my hard drives, I 'll look around and see if I can find it.
