Quality of sport kilts?

I have a Sport Kilt in the Forbes Tartan. All of the good words about Sport Kilts is a ditto for me. Buy one and wear it out as well as you may. I like mine. It has taken a close second bhind my UK Desert Camoflage Original for wear frequency. When you see me I'll like be in one of those two, provided I'm not leaving for or arriving from another location.

Do spend the extra money for pleats and a custom length etc. The basic sportkilt is gathered like a skirt in back.

For what a Sportkilt is, the quality is good. For what's it not (a $500+ wool kilt), also makes it a good buy.

I wear my Sportkilt more often than my others because it's light weight and comfortable. Hold pleats well, no holes or rips and looks as good as the day I bought it, even though I wear it often.

Great knock-around kilt you'd feel comfortable wearing everyday as casual wear. Cutting the grass, hiking or drinking a few pints. Nothing fancy, but any excuse to wear a kilt is fine.

I am preparing for my first kilt and would like to be patient and obtain a fine kilt. At the same time, I have considered that I will not want to wear it to a celtic festival or highland games and sit on the ground with it for the better part of the day (especially if it has rained recently). So the idea of getting a kilt from Sport Kilt or USA Kilts seems worthy of consideration. Most of the people responding to this topic have multiple kilts. What kilt do you wear to festivals and/or games? What issues do you consider? I have also learned from this topic that there may be other discussions that have addressed issues presented. If this has been presented, I will thank you for the guide to that location.

My first kilt was a Polyviscose kilt from Bear Kilts. I wore my PV kilts to games, festivals, pub nights, sporting events, etc. I only recently added the more casual wool kilt for these events. Since this is in general talk talk, and not in Sportkilts section, I will suggest having a look at www.usakilts.com and www.canadiancasualkilts.com both sell kilts available in the polyviscose material (do a search of the forum for more info on PV).
