    Round Brass Kilt Buckle

I'm looking for a brass version of this buckle:
    http://kiltstore.net/sr_gaeli_bbccelt.html

To go with a brown belt, and SWK Weathered MacKenzie.

    Any suggestions?

You can buy a DIY kit from Caswell and plate it yourself. The investment would be about $65. You'll need to strip the Chrome off and then replate the buckle with Gold (which has a shelf life of about 4 months I think), or plate it with brass or copper and apply a clear coat to prevent tarnishing.

Or you could send it to me, and I'll plate it for you. PM me if interested

the description of the buckle does say "chrome plated brass" does that mean I could strip off the chrome, and come up with nice brass?

You probably would not find a "Brass" in the sense of the word that it would be shiny, gold like the one on Stillwaters web site. As it was made to be chromed they probably went with a very low grade brass that will require some kind of plating to look nice. You most likely will not be able to use Brass-O on it and get it clean and shiny.

The common figure for PGC shelf-life is 1 year but if its correctly stored it will last longer.
