I have a kiltstore kilt and it is a quality garment - the 8-yard balmoral. Actually, with my 36 inch waist ans pleated to the stripe it's more like 7 yards. The same kilt I got for $343 last year in 13 oz wool by Batley mill is now $521. If you pay to Fedex it that's and extra 30 bucks or so. Fedex will charge you $25 to process the customs entry and about $62 in customs fees for the kilt. Ant this wooll is not the tops, like House of Edgar or Lochcarron.

I like my kiltstore kilt, but at these prices, I STRONGLY suggest contacting Barb T, Kathy Lare, Matt Newsome, or one of the other kiltmkers on this side of the pond. At least the price you are quoted won't have unpleasant surprise extra costs

Why not "research" with a drive over the mountains to Philly and talk to Rocky at the USA Kilts store. Then you can eyeball the differences between the fabrics and kilt yardage looks?

I orderd a kilt from them and im very happy with it. It came on time and fit great. But add $100 to the overall cost for when you get slamed by fedex on the tarif and their handling charge. I would say try to get what you want from an american kilt maker.
