From the F.A.Q.

How do I post pictures in a thread?
First of all, upload your picture to the Web, be it your own Web site or to an online album, such as Photobucket. Once you have the image stored on the Web, carefully note the entire URL (address) of the image.

Then , browse over here to X Marks and log in, decide where you want that shiny new image to be displayed and then read the following instructions and follow them, step-by-step.

You will want to type all of the following on one line, with no spaces or breaks.

[img] http://www.theaddresswhereyourimagei...om/imagenumber, name and type [/img]

Easy-peasy, ladies and gentlemen. It is not rocket science, OK?

(And yes, you do need to use the http:// convention with the Web address, as just a www. isn't going to make the cut.)

The IMG tags are looking for a Location address, with an image extension, such as .jpg and not an .html address.

PS - Photobucket actually gives you the code to cut and paste directly into the thread.
