    Here's an interesting vintage outfit

Has anyone ever seen this kilt/vest type of combo before. go to the page and scroll down to see the picture of the kilt and vest on the hanger. Also, note the button closure on the kilt. Might be of interest to our kilt makers.

This has been up for sale for a while. I remember someone posting something about this a few weeks ago.

WOW! Those outfits are fantastic, and proof that the kilt can be worn over the waistcoat. The button closeure system is very intruiging, and much less cumbersom than the strap and buckle. I love to see vintage Highlandwear, but non of it's any good to me because men were so much smaller in those days! If I were (a lot) smaller, boy would I have some fun bidding on all this ebay stuff!!!!
The Kilt is my delight !

As I commented in the other thread on this topic, this kilt outfit is for a child, and it was not uncommon in the recent past for boy's kilts to be made with an attached vest. I suppose it made fitting a growing child a bit easier. I don't see this done too much today, but it was once pretty common practice.

(I wouldn't use it as a precident for a grown man wearing his vest tucked into his kilt, though! That would look a bit odd indeed!).
