Anyway... my sword kilt pins seem to be no longer than 4" and longer than that wouldn't look right. I do love your designs, though, and would be interested in the targe/hilted sword pin.

Ditto what the others said about size, weight, and fear of snagging. More to the point, while your drawings are quite lovely, have you looked around at what kilt pins are already available?
For example the www.kiltstore.net alone has 30 sword based pins listed here
And here are some designs for sale at www.scotlandshopdirect.com
my point being, that if you are going to design and make a custom kilt pin, you might want to branch out.
