That does not call for a wee dram. It does not call for a "not so wee dram" . that calls for a drink that is FRIGGIN HUGE.
It hurts just thinking about it. Godspeed on your new kilt.

Sounds like a good option. You could also make a scarf, some flashes, a hat, a throw or pillow, etc. good luck

Well, I had heard a 3" shrikage in the drop of a wool kilt if washed and I guess it is true. Now can we make some lemonade out of this lemon life gave you. How about everyone checking in and we try to locate someone with a son, or some guy of smaller stature who is interested in wearing a kilt. That may be a way to salvage it

On here, you are likely to find TAKERS!
(I have a size 10 (US), or so, foot-> if would fit me!)

Also, is that "Wook" as in "Wookie" or just a miss-spelled "wool?"

If only they would see the light.
At my sister's birthday dinner I was asked not to wear my kilt because it embarrased her wife.
That's the only negative kilt comment I've ever had, though.

My sister does live vicariously through me.
 To a disturbing point.
To the point of telling me that when I can grow a decent beard I should grow muttonchop sideburns to go with my kilt and 'Here, I have photoshopped some pictures of you to show you what you would look like.'

Right now I am just glad to have found a taker for my shrunken kilt.
 (A friend's little brother.

And now I have my denim kilt as a replacement.

					Arlen:
We can weep over life's misfortunes, or we can rejoice over life's blessings. Me, I'll admit, I'd be mightily irked about the shrunken kilt, until I thought that I had a Dad who was trying to help me when I was down, and some cool sisters, and that I'd fallen off a log onto my head on the rocks (proving yet again that Celts be hard of head!) and mostly walked away from it unscathed.

But dad gum it, I'd had my eye on your tweed kilt, and had thought about snapping up its large-**** brother off e-bay, but missed that too! THE HORROR!

(Note: I don't mean this preachy in any way.)

Arlen, what a tragedy! And the worst part is, your dad was trying to help! I'd feel absolutely horrible if I had done that...
Now... about a 33 inch waist, you say... 18 inch drop... hmmm... Sounds like it might fit me just right if I wore it down around my hips...

OMG! Hopefully your dad doesn't feel too bad for trying to help.
A long time ago, I got my best pair of leather gloves wet and they dried a little stiff. I asked my friend what I could do to soften the leather and he recommended boiling it. So I did and the glove promptly shrunk so small that the entire glove could sit in the palm of my hand.

A little irritated (they were my favorite gloves), I showed my friend the result and asked him what I did wrong.

"What did you do?" he asked.

"I boiled it, just like you said," I replied.

"No . . . you were supposed to *oil* it!" he said.
