Good plan, Shriner! I also have a kilt presently too small to wear hanging in the closet for exactly the same reason. It's a really good motivator.
Best regards

I plan on burning my legwear when I am 100% kilted...the rest will be donated.

I admire your dedication. Even though I have been kilted full time for almost 4 months, I just can't seem to part with any of my trousers or shorts and they still hang forlornly beside my kilts in the closet.

Hawaiian shirts
Hawaiian shirts
If Hawaiian shirts were banned what would we wear on "Aloha Fridays?"
At work we have a rule that in short says flowered Hawaiian shirts are required or there is a minimal fine which goes into a party kitty. We did have to revise the rule slightly to allow printed shirts with fish rather than flowers for a few folks with a tropical phobia.

Hi Rob,might I suggest that paying the fine would be a far better option!Even a heavy fine would be worth serious consideration.

To pull this thread back to what to do with old clothes, I'd like to point this out. Clothes make very little money at a thrift (charity) shop. A much better use for donated clothes is to give them to your local homeless shelter or soup kitchen. Take it from someone who has been there, a nice set of clothes would be greatly appreciated. As Shriner mentioned, a new set of clothes can help someone down on their luck get into employment.

Aye EMonkey, you're so right.
I gave my old shirts and pants to our local alcohol detox unit and to my lady to take down to the emergency room at Hopi Hospital.
Some of the clothes the drunks are wearing when they get brought in are too far gone. Once they sober up and get a good shower a new set of clothes goes a long way towards self respect.
And of course folks coming into emergency rooms are forever getting their clothes cut off them by the medics so its nice if they have something to wear home.
I stopped giving my old t-shirts to the local thrift store when I found out they cut them up into rags and sell them. I switched over to detox and the ER after that.

Personally, I love Aloha shirts. I wear them all the time. Here's me wearing one of my favourites with my MacLaren Sport Kilt:
