I'm still here!

For the past couple of months, I've been absolutely, incredibly, horrendously busy. I've been working 10-12 hour shifts, 6 days a week. On top of that I still have my wife/home maker duties to keep up. Thank Gosh I don't have any kids yet. I would probably go AWOL if I did. I have, however, managed to find the time to LOOK at my previously new fabric. I've got a few wide yards of Pride of Scotland tartan that I plan to make into a mini kilt and a sash....eventually....one of these days....hopefully within the next couple months. I swore on my grandmother's grave that I'd try to make a mini kilt..... back when I wasn't working nearly as much and had a few free hours a day to do so. Hopefully I'll be able to get TWO days off a week soon. Hopefully.

When we get a few more reliable employees, I'll have more free time. I'll buckle down on it then.

Glad to hear that you're back. We missed you, but hey take care of yourself first. Good luck on the minikilt and please post pics (lotsa pics) when finished.

Why?

No, seriously, when you both work equally outside the home, or especially if you are actually working MORE outside the home, why do YOU feel obligated to be the one who keeps up on the "home maker" duties? Let him do it! It's the way to go, believe me!

Glad to see you back! I agree with the crazy busy thing, my life has been the same way. One of these days I'll actually get around to some more projects, meanwhile, everyone is wondering where I've gotten to as well.

My husband works equally long shifts. He also has a very physically demanding job. He does tires....semi-truck, dump truck, tractor and personal vehicle tires. Most of the tires he deals with on a daily basis weight more than I do.

He helps me with the laundry and yard work, he cleans up after himself- most of the time, but the kitchen is another planet to him. The only complaint I have is that he doesn't put his dirty clothes in the hamper benind the door. He drops them about 6 inches to the left. Maybe I should move the hamper...lol.

Amen to that - "chores" as my folks used to call 'em are part of being a family. After all, many hands make for light work.
