    Lizard hat.

So I was trolling around the net looking for Caubeens awhile back, when I stumbled across this thread: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=20569

I thought, "Hey, I can do that!" and vowed to do so when I got up money for another project. When my order of faux lizard leather arrived the other day, I found that the pattern went long way rather than selvedge to selvedge. I recalculated usage and bingo- fabric for an attempt. I think it came out pretty cool-especially for a first go. Without further ado, here are the pics:

Very cool, it makes me wonder though how hot does it get under there?

That is pretty cool! I can see that with a UK, and a pint.

As to how warm it is, I'll find out when I wear it to class tonight. I'll be taking a backup hat just in case it's too hot to wear in the heat of summer. One thing I did not mention is that the band is lined with terry cloth to absorb sweat.

As far as this hat being seen with a UK and a pint in actuality-well, only if I lend it to a UK wearing drinker, as I don't do either of those things

I was thinking about it, and decided that next time I make a hat, I'll be making a reversible. It shouldn't be too hard, given the directions that I used.

Very sharp bit of gear there. Just edited after checking the link within the link. Impressive pattern making. Might have to have a go at that.
