As most here know already . . .
I am a fan of the box pleat for comfort. It is GREAT in this heatwave. I am MORE comfortable in my 16 oz worsted box pleat kilts than in my COTTON SHORTS!
I have even been wearing my Lewis hose from the tartan museum (with flashes) too.
I wore my Wallace one today, Caledonia 13 oz yesterday, and plan to wear the MacNeil tomorrow.
It has been 100-106 around here with high humidity (YET, NO RAIN). SO, I feel the box pleat is GREAT.
When it is near freezing, I'll just add a jacket to what I wore at 105. I'll be FINE.
Can I say, "versatile." It is also comfortable to drive in (which my 1 5-yard wool knife pleat is not).
As of know, I have 7 box pleats (1-saxony wool, 2-13 oz worsted, 4 -16oz worsted) and plan to make SEVERAL more (material for 3 more in my house and 4 more on my "short-term" wish list).
I am a "wee bit" fan of the box.
