In less than 24 hours...
In less than 24 hours I will be on a plane headed for England. My flight leaves here at 11:10 am Tuesday. Slight panic set in about a week ago. I've moved on to rather frantic. It'll be a relief to be on the plane, I've been running around so much the last few days trying to take care of the last few details.
Once I'm over there I've got to find a flat, I've only got temporary accommodation at the University. I've got 14 days to find a room for 2, then I can get the documentation to send back to the states so my Lady can apply for her visa. But we're still looking at three or four weeks being on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
It snuck up on me. I can't believe I'm moving to the UK, even if for only a year or a little more. Hopefully more, once I'm done with my Masters I'd like to enter the PhD program.
I've got room in my luggage for one Utilikilt. I'll have to have my tank mailed, I'm bringing all my textbooks so there's not much room in there. It's not the only thing, I'm having a few other things mailed as well, once I have a permanent address.
Well, I need to get going and do some more work. I'll post how I'm doing when I can, I don't know what kind of internet avaliability I'm going to have to start out with.
Cheers,
Nick

I am sooooooooo envious - I'm sure you will have a great adventure. Don't panic, be nice, and ask for help - I've found people in the UK can be very kind if you stay humble.

Keep in touch, Nick. And not to worry, there will still be a kilted part of you here as I saw and talked with your kilted brother yesterday, coming out of WalMart. He was with a group of people I didn't know, so I yelled loudly to him, "Hey, guy in a skirt!" He just laughed and ran up to me and we shook hands. I bet the group he was with was wondering what was going on. haha I didn't have my kilt on, but it would have been cool to let his friends know there are others.
