    Trip to Ireland #1

Here is a selection of pictures taken by me on my choir trip to Ireland.

Some of the choir members relaxing at Fishguard (Abergwaun) whilst waiting to board the ferry.

View of the breakwater at Fishguard.

Strumble Head lighthouse looking beyond in the direction of St Davids.

    Part of the Preseli Mountains.

Approaching Rosslare Harbour after a lovely smooth crossing!

On Saturday we travelled to Kilkenny - this is a view of the Castle.

    More to come!

I worked the channel ferries in the early 70's out of Southampton. Rosslare was one of our stops. Watching Ireland rise out of the sea on the approach is one of the most beautiful sights I have seen. (You didn't get any of those?)

It's built up quite a bit since then. I remember walking past the guards and the disinfectant trough for the cars.

Nice pics, obviously takes me back. Thanks.
