    Chrysanthemums?

Dandelion comes from Dent de Lion - Lion's Tooth, and we are all Lions who wear kilts!

    Artificial Chrysanthemums as Dandelions

As I used to hear often in my former career: "Close enough for Government work!"

The Gaelic for Dandelion is Caisearbhán (IRISH), Caisearbhan (SCOTTISH). Pronounced CASH-yER-IV-AUN).

Interesting photo of the dandelions - they must me a variation of the ones I cultivate (!) in my garden in Norway. The yellow flower is a bit different.

I'm no plant specialist, but are there many varieties of the dandelion?

There are similar plants, but what I have in my garden is probably a direct relative from yours according to this article.

This year hasn't been a good one for dandelions. Don't know why unless it has been wetter and they don't like it. Last year my garden was full of them but there have been only 2 or 3 this year.
