Alex, were you taking notes on your tour in order to rememeber all those Tibetan names, or do you just have an excellent memory for places and spelling?
I photographed printed information during my visit then brought it up on the computer screen at home to remind me.

During the tourist season (Easter to end of October) the Buddhist centre at Eskdalemuir extends an open welcome to anyone interested in visiting them on most days from 10am till 5pm. There is no charge for admission but it is etiquette to make a small donation to their funds. This is an interesting place to visit, within easy reach during a stay at Ferintosh. (Less than an hour's drive from Dumfries).

    Talking

Great pics, Alex. I spent a weekend at the Samye Ling centre in 1996 or thereabouts and I thoroughly enjoyed it. They have obviously added some more buildings to it since.

I was trying to learn how to meditate but I didn't keep it up! I thought it would help me deal with stress and aggravation in my life but maybe it did have an effect after all...
