Buzz kidder sporran quality?

Has anyone bought one of these Buzz Kidder Ribbed Kilt Sporran with Pewter Medallion from Stillwater?

I know I don't have to worry about shipping, since Jerry seems to be a magician, but I was wondering about the size and whether or not it has a drawstring closure. Hard to beat a good sporran at this price.

I wear a Buzz Kidder sporran almost every day, it's well made from good quality leather, has plenty of room, and a easy to use magnetic snap closure. I don't think you can get a better value in a day sporran.

I'd recommend getting a strap to use instead of the supplied chain;

Thank you. I have a couple straps but I like to use the sporran hangers I bought from USA Kilts. This should be a fun week. I have the following ordered and am waiting for them:

a kilt (Night Stalker) w/flashes, kilt belt, and kilt pin (Stillwater Kilts)
some coloured flashes and kilt hose (USA Kilts)
Balmoral (Sport Kilt),

Now ordering the Buzz Kidder sporran from Stillwater Kilts.

Buzz Kidder sporrans are very popular with members of this forum. They are well made and very reasonably priced. The size is larger than average. The Ribbed model doesn't have a drawstring closure, but Buzz Kidder's Inverness model does.

Having been impressed with vertually everything that I have purchased from SWK, I recently bought that sporran. It is a very fine piece!

The only downside that I see is the chain included with it. I will never use that chain, but the two oblong loops meant for the chain, fit my leather sporran belt just fine.

It is not an evening sporran, but will/could look well with a coat and tie. It is roomier than most sporrans that I have seen at that price.

The ribbing give it a sort-of expansion quality. The only draw back, as with most basic sporrans, is that it is just a leather pocket. Were I to try and improve it, I would put a couple of sub-pockets in it for change or other small stuff that sink to the bottom.

I've got that same sporran. I think it's the best sporran out there for the money. The leather is very nice quality and it is very well put together. I really like the magnetic closure because it sort of works all by itself and can be done with one hand.

Just me. The quality on the BK sporrans is good, no question. Problems I've had with them are that the "hand hole" on the top is too small for my massive paw and once there's "stuff" in the sporran its very hard for me to find that tiny snap and connect the flap with the magnetic closure.

Of course I also have my usual rant about marketing sporrans without giving the dimensions (is there anything more important to the purchaser?) or showing the photo with an object so size can be estimated.

As long as you're at SWK why not get a ballistic nylon nightstalker and fall in love with it then replace it with the leather version in a few months when they come out?

But, biggest thing. Wrap a tape around your paw then ask if that size will fit into the top opening to find what you need.

A couldn't agree more. I'll probably get the ballistic nylon sporran too.. I like to change accessories a lot (blame this on Donna).
