Both beautiful pieces of work. How about a true DIY post with step by step instructions for the rest of us?
Thanks,
Brian

I"ll take step by step pictures one the next one I build
and post them
Putting one of these together isn't that hard it just takes alot of pre-planning and lay out
Materials are readily available
I'll post pictures of what I used to attach the spike and hand grips when I get home
My work computer will not allow access to photobucket

Just a quick question regarding your rivets. I'm assuming you drilled your holes for the rivets, but did you just use standard pop rivets, or did you use special brass ones?

I didn't use any rivets,
the front is covered in brass tacks that I got from Crazy Crow
They come in different diameters and in a high or low dome
The heads are solid brass and the shanks are iron, beware of the brass plated ones as the plating will wear off and they will rust

Sorry I won't be able to make it to Estes Park this year
Mine's on hold right now. We've been doing way too much work around the house
Understand about that. I won't be able to make it up there till late on Friday myself.

Absolutely beautiful! It's not often I see something that takes my breath away; but your targes do. Thanks

this what I use to layout and scribe the design in the leather
I use these type of nuts to attach the handles and spike
I hope that this helps

I once built an arbor using these copper roves and rivets. Easy to work with.

Awesome Targe, Joe. Is it just for your wall, or will you take it to Rendezvous for show and tell?
