Could you not see Blackbeard standing on his foredeck in a salt encrusted black leather kilt, fuses smouldering in his beard?

Not plain leather, it'd have to be sealskin or maybe shark (or mermaid?) to be worthy of being wrapped around Blackbeard's loins!
