Wasn't expecting this, but the Wife had us watch The Queen the other night. Was pleasantly surprised to see SEVERAL kilted scenes. An added plus - much of the movie was shot at Balmoral, and there are some amazing shots of the Highlands and the ghillies stalking stag.
(here's a challenge -- can you spot the 1 scene where there was a "kilt violation" and what it was? hint -- Prince Charles)

The studio is still doing script rewrites. The last I heard :

They want to combine Mike1 and Spasm's characters to make a old doddering bumbling Moderator.

Jason Issacs is already in negotiations to play Freelander Sporrano.

The characters of Mr. Splash, Mr. BEEDEE, and Mr. Mender have been changed to women to be played by Jessica Biel, Charlize Theron, and Miranda Otto.

cajunscot is now going to be a laptop supercomputer code named c.a.j.u.n.s.c.o.t.

Five car chases have been added, including one before the opening credits and one set in the Library at the Great Hall of X Marks the Scot.

Coca Cola has apparently given a lot of money for product placement, they want the Saltire to look like a big Coke bottle.

Colin is now going to be Austrailian

They want to set everything in outer space.

I thought that I should play myself, but the studio doesn't think I would be believeable in the role. Eddie Izzard has been following me around for the last few weeks studying me. Apparently he feels he can portray the true essence of myself that I have been unable to project.

I'll keep you posted if the project gets the green light.

    Cheers

Well, at least Hollywood can make some good decisions.

Yes, but what do the letters stand for?

    Brilliant casting choice.

I have got to throw in my 2 cents in for "Tunes of Glory". I know that I've said this before but it speaks to me on several levels. If you want to know what someone with PSTD looks like just look at LTC Barrow (Sir John Mills)

Was it the black shoes with a brown day sporran when he went driving with the Queen?

"The Queen" is currently playing on Starz.

I too must cast my vote for Rob Roy. Although not a kilted movie I did enjoy the scene in "Legends of the Fall" when in WWI to signify the start of the battle a kilted soldier stands above the trenches and kicks a soccer ball into the air.

If you liked that, do I have a web article for you:

    http://www.canadiansoldiers.com/medi...ds_of_the_Fall

This was written by a member of the Calgary Highlanders who served as an extra during the filming, and there are a lot of photos accompanying the article of the Highlanders in the film. It's a great read.

    Regards,

    Todd
