I think with a feather sporran she would be able to see that something was up!

I first want to say, thank you to Barb for putting up with me and for being an absolute joy to work with. As many of you already know, she is very personable and just a very wonderful person, and her kilts are AMAZING!!! I am very proud not only to wear my Clan's tartan, but for it to be one of Barb's works of art, makes it even more special. If you are still on the fence about having a Tewksbury, get off the fence and contact her.
The Tartan is 16 oz Strome, Lochcharron.
A shot with the flashes she made for me and a length of extra tartan she ordered for me to make a fly plaid.
WARNING!! Now, this last one would scare all manner of kith and kin, including the livestock and other assorted beasties so fair warning, and please if you need a target for dart practice feel free... I just put it on after letting the pleats free and my daughter took a quick photo.
I hope to have some more pictures soon that will show the details and me smiling at least.
Again, Barb thank you from a very, very happy customer!
That is the same tartan as the Perthshire District or Drummond of Perth right? I just ordered a 4-yard box pleat in Perthshire District so it's nice to see how pretty the tartan actually is in kilt form!

Perthshire District tartan is close to the Grant but its not the same. The azure stripe is in a position that it bisects the green instead of framing the green as it does in the photo. There are some other differences but in a quick glance on the Scottish Tartan Authority website you can compare the two. Drummon of Perth appears to be very close to the Perthshire tartan as well. The Drummon tartan is the same as the Grant. I have heard several explanations as to why. I believe it stemmed from some of the confusion with clan tartans when Sir Walter Scott arranged for the King George the IV's visit to the Highlands. I understand the Chief of Drummond showed up in the Grant Tartan thanks to that confusion. I believe Matt Newsome wrote an article or it was in one of his other writings about some of the confusion that the scramble to find "forgotten" clan tartans produced.
The more some of my family members see the Grant in the ancient hues they more like it. My father admittedly prefers the modern but has changed his tune and says the more he sees it in the ancient hues the more he likes it. I am like Bradley the more I see the red tartans in ancient the more I like them.
I will have more photos soon and I hope you will post photos of your Perthshire when you recieve it.

According to the master of all-that-is-tartan, Matt Newsome, Drummond of Perth and Perthshire District are the same tartan. It's Drummond and Grant that are the same. I was under the impression that all three were the same tartan so I apologize for my ignorance.
And as far as pics are concerned, they will be taken as soon as I receive the kilt.

Ok I thought they looked very simular(Perthshire and D of P). I only did a cursory glance at work when I had a second. And, there is nothing to apologize for. Its hard to remember what is simular and what makes them different.

Looks great! I have the same tartan in a 5 yarder though my "ancient red" seems to be a bit more of an orange hue- wonderful look.
