Well, ... the war of wills continues, the missus took one look at me today, looked me up and down, looked pointedly at the kilt, and went 'oh my god!', och well, them's the breaks. I've never heard such blarney, Kid Cossack indeed, sure it's not kid casanova? If I said anything like that to my wife, she'd tell me to *%*% off! As for photos, I don't do them, and in all honesty, I have nae got the power, Jim

I am really not sure how a kilt causes questions of orientation.
My uncle Les has been wearing his Colqhoun for some decades now. When his wife first heard the term "Bi" (early in the reporting of the AIDS crisis) she thought they were talking about men with more than one lass. Uncle Les certainly never gave her anything to worry about in that department.
If that is an issue, then there may be more than a wardrobe decision conflict going on.

I had a thought today, rare but not unheard of
I've been taking my wife's hatred of the kilt too personally, an easy mistake to make when I'm the one bearing the brunt of the acidic remarks and filthy looks, I hope you'll agree.
So to clarify, my thought ... my missus sees the kilt as only to be legitimately worn by a man of Scottish birth on, and for, his wedding day, and just for the service, not the reception.
So when I am kilted, she's doubly offended, I am neither Scottish, nor am I getting married This is both ridiculous and sartorially inexcusable behaviour on my part in her eyes, after all, my wife doesn't walk around every day in a bridal gown, sporting a veil, carrying a bouquet and being followed by a flotilla of bridesmaids, now does she?
Oh well, just a thought

Maybe so, but there are men today who think of women as little more than cattle and treat them accordingly. It don't make them right.
I wish you all the best resolving your situation.

just tell her you like wearing a skirt, she can understand that. Now you can have a clothing choice like she does. And work backwards from there, ha.
Seriously, two things. First, for her, there's enough of us here have wives who would disagree with her, there are enough Scots here to disagree with her, if she want's to discuss it. Doesn't sound like she's open, oh well.
Second, it's a piece of clothing not a religion. You didn't "promise to love, honour and cherish" the kilt. We've all got stuff to work out: for me, the kilt is easy; a Ural Gear-Up, now that's hard. Oh, well.

My wife thinks kilts are way to sexy to not wear,.....so I guess I have no real advice other then give and take.
Lemme know how it works out for ya.

Almost everytime I wear mine she says "Do you have to wear that?" I tell her "Yes, and you might as well get used to it." But when we get out she seems to not only be ok with it but seems to have fun with it. I think it is the thought of the extra attention rather then the attention itself.
