Thorfinn Sporran - American Heritage Tartan

I mentioned the other day that I was the owner of a new Thorfinn Convertible Sporran, and here's my review (and the necessary pictures).
First, the sporran itself is great. Black deerskin that is pliable but has strength to it. Standard cell phone pocket (that was full of business cards) and pen holder, optional key holder, and still plenty of room left over for digital camera, glasses case, handkerchief, any other odds and ends I may have with me (I haven't tried to fill it to its limit ... yet).
Then there's the flaps. When I contacted Turpin, I had only considered getting a plain leather flap and a tartan flap with the triple red stripes of the American Heritage tartan. Well, Turpin asked if I wanted the tripe red or the white stripes. I don't know how I overlooked the white stripe, but I hadn't thought of it. And having not thought of it, I couldn't make up my mind. So I had to order two tartan flaps.
Turpin also gave me several options for the button flaps. My single, small disappointment is that he didn't have any hound buttons. But looking at the overall end product, my disappointment is very, very small.

If you're considering buying a sporran, and you want one that's roomy, well-made, and will stand out from the rest, and all for a very reasonable price - talk to Turpin. You won't regret it.

And a view of the back and two unattached flaps. Did I mentioned Turpin numbered it?

Nice sporran. I've always liked the swapable flaps it's ingenious turpin. Now Gary when you look at those flaps you see the American Heritage, when I see the flap with white stripe I see a red bordered Saltire. Nifty, eh? Can I hope that a Thorfinn owner order extra flaps down the road to match new tartans?

For a fee I'll bet Turpin would do one up in rubber chicken hide.

But Grant - when I called it a Saltire in another thread, you called it the Cross of St. Andrew.
And yes, Turpin is open to making up extra flaps - check out the pricing on his website. I already have another 8"x8" swatch in mind; I just have to get the tartan first.

For a fee, yes. Customer supplies the rubber chicken.
