Hawick is in the Borders which didn't have such a kiltwearing tradition as the Highlands had but even further north they might only emerge on what are considered to be special occasions. Church attendance might not be considered a special occasion by many worshippers.

It would be nice to see dedicated kilt wearers all over Scotland every day of the week but it's not the case. We know several of the honourable exceptions through these forums and more power to their elbow!
