Out of interest, General Wolfe,the British General,who was killed at the battle of Quebec served under the Duke of Cumberland,I think as a major,at the battle of Cullodon.

Ironically, Wolfe commanded some of his former opponents at Culloden at the Siege of Louisbourg and Quebec, the 78th Fraser Highlanders.

I understand the reason that General Wolfe was able to command the Scots.without too much bother at Quebec, was the respect given to Wolfe for refusing a direct order from the Duke of Cumberland to shoot a wounded enemy highlander, just hours after the battle of Cullodon.
