My daughter and new son-in-law just returned from their honeymoon in Paris. They said that a few days ago they walked to the Eiffel tower to find thousands of guys in kilts. They were celebrating, apparently, by drinking lots of brew. Unfortunately for the kilted image, a good many of them were relieving themselves of that processed brew at the base of the Eiffel tower.
Football fans...!

They were merely watering the wee tower so that it can grow up to be a nice BIG tower someday!
That, or they were trying to rust the bloody thing out.... ;-)

Now is the time for a "sermon" preached to the congregation of St. Luke's Anglican Catholic Church by the late Canon Ramsey-Kendall, formerly of the RAF, WWII, and the Scottish National Soccer team, as I understood it.
Seems the Scots went to play the French in Paris, and the night before the game the two teams got together to celebrate the Auld Alliance and evidently had a few drams of wine/whisky. Finally, in the wee hours of the morning the party broke up and the Scots returned to their hotel.
The next day they staggered out onto the field to discover the French team they had been drinking with was not the French team they were playing. The Scots lost.

Scotland crushed Romania 42-0 at at Murrayfield in Edinburgh today. Next game is the 23rd against New Zealand All Blacks (that will be the tough one).

And for those who have not seen it and there can't be many, here is the famous Lawson's Scotch commercial of the New Zealand All Black vs Scotland:
