Here's a detail shot of the knife pleat at the front apron edge:



I left the lower edge of the knife pleat plain, and opted to hem it as it lay rather than shaping it. I'm not sure how big Alex may be when he tops out, so I'll wait until then to fit it.

The first and last pleats are 3/4" narrower than the remainder, to fit my tiny hip girdle and align the center back stripe. I had to re-fit the sporran loops because my straps kept sliding off my <lack of> hips. Now they're 6" apart, which has remedied the problem.

Barb's book was invaluable in making this kilt. I've got an older version, so I'm sure to have missed some critical instructions. Seeing Matt's work in person inspired me to have a go at making a box pleated kilt. 'Thank you' to both of them!
