Kilted Birthday

I was invited to dinner with some good friends from work on my birthday yesterday. What was supposed to be an intimate dinner turned out to be a surprise party, and there I was wearing my Gordon tartan. Everyone loved how it looked and I posed for a lot of pictures. After dinner, we all headed to the nightclub in the hotel and the band announced that it was my birthday saying, ".....he's the guy wearing the skirt!". Without hesitating, I jumped up and yelled out "Actually, it's a kilt!". I only had one other comment and it was the standard, "Where's your bagpipes?". I just responded, "I left them at home".I have to tell you all that at any given time I was dancing with at least 3 beautiful women, and I'll bet every guy watching was saying to himself, "I'm gonna have to get me one of those!". The women who weren't dancing were staring at me and smiling, and friends told me that they were making all sorts of juicy comments. I had a great time in my kilt during my first real public appearance.

That is great news glad your birthday was such a success. I guess given that kind of a public debut it will not be your last. Good for you.

Congrats on your B'day and your experience. I had a similar one while enjoying a few beverages with my g/f and her father. The attention that was paid to my kilt and told to me by girlfriend was interesting, to say the least. I started wearing my kilt to celebrate my irish heritage after my scottish girlfriend got it for me for my birthday. Sorry I am rambling, its great to hear that story.
