Though, I do get tired of it ever so often. Particularly, after I play it in my car radio, in traffic, kilted, top (car top) down (in an MX-5 Miata), for the umpteenth time in a row.

Then, I just go to the next song on the CD.

So, what are some OTHER really good and/or funny "kilt" songs (not "Scottish," but particularly KILT related.)
My good friend's band The Keltic Cowboys have a huge hit right now, titled "Kiss My Irish ***" . Floggings Molly's are currently trying to buy the rights of the song off of him also. You can download it on ITunes. Trust me it's worth the $0.99.

Actually I just realized that there probably isn't any mention of Kilts in the song i just listed. I was going to delete this post since it wasn't entirely related, but you should still check it out.

"The Scotsman", "Donald, Where's Your Troosers?", "What's Up Yours?" ...
There's another - the title was something along the lines of "The Mexican Scotsman".

Those are the only kilt-related songs popping into my head right now.

Big Country Fields of Fire (kilts in video)
Big Country Restless Natives (no kilts but a song about Rob Roy and that's close enough for me). Ha, I nominated that song for Scotland's national anthem but nobody listens to me.

The Mexican Scotsman-- Enter the Haggis..
    Jose, get your bagpipes
And head down to the square
    Seranade the passers-bye
And you'll make some money there

    Jose came to this country
    Looking for a chance
    To make some decent money
To buy a pair of pants
    But we were in recession
And jobs were far and few
    So jose took his bagpipes
And did what he had to do

Dressed in his Sombrero and Kilt
    With his bagpipes and maracas
    Playing away for his supper
    Boiled haggis with nachos

One day while he was basking
A pretty young lassie came by
She said "Jose, take s troll with me"
Says Jose, "Si! Si! Och' 'Aye!"
    They spent the day together
Then she took him to a dance
    Well, Jose moved most gracefully
    'Cause he wasn't wearing pants

And he was born in Mexico City
    Educated in Scotland
In sandals and bright tartan pancho
Jose's fashion statement was not planned

But when Jose went to the men's room
There was trouble close at hand
Cause in came Bob, the sailor man
The roughest man in the land
    Says Bob, "You're lookin' pretty
    In your little tartan dress
Now you'd best be off to the ladies room
'fore I pummels you into a mess"

Now you could have heard a pin drop
    As Jose tongued around
His scottish-mexican blood began to boil
And it made this kind of sound...

And when it all was over
Sailor Bob lay on the floor
He looked the saddest sorry wreck
    Ever blown a shore
Now, the sailors keep a lookout
    Whenever they're on the land
For they knows well that they doesn't mess
    With a Scottish Mexican man!

Not funny, but my favorite kilt related song has to be "Gallant Forty-Twa" by the Clancy Brothers.

The Skye song, and "Charlie is ma Darlin'" "Donald etc."
    This may sound silly, but there was a song on the top 40 back in the 70's about a battle between the Mc Dougals & Mc Gregors. All I can remember is part of the chorus;

"O tweedle dee, O tweedle dum,
the tune Mc Dougal always used to hum,
    when he was fighting
    the rival clan Mc Gregor,
he swore that he would never
{La La La La La La?)

(can't remember the rest, having a Senior Moment, it's been a long time.)

Anyone have the slightest idea of what I'm talking about???
    if not...NEVER MIND!

Mmm, it's basically the same, of course, though Mike adds some spoken-word vocals I haven't heard from anyone else. You can find it on his album "The Best of the Funny Stuff," which also includes "Elma Turl."
