    DC Dalgliesh Tartan images

Does any know where i can find pictures of the DC Dalgleish tartans, I am prepared to take some chances, so I wouldn't even mind internet/web images... . I suppose my question is how close are the names/tartans to other makers?

I've made 6 kilts so far, I;ve been lucky in finding various tartans near by at good prices, and am very interested to experiment more!

    any help gratefully received!

    Paul,

    D. C. Dalgliesh doesn't have an extensive web site (pretty much just a front page with contact info), and only has a very small (compared to other mills) "stock" range of tartans. Most cloth that they produce is custom made for their particular clients. So that's why you won't find a page showing all of "Dalgleish's tartans" because by and large they are going to be custom runs.

There are some folks here on the list who have kilts in cloth woven by Dalgleish. The picture on my main homepage, www.albanach.org, shows me in a reproduction MacQuarrie tartan woven by that mill.

    Aye,
    Matt

that's exactly why I asked, Matt!!well done for stating what I knew already!
It has a single web page, it's not in the remotest sense extensive...

They have do however a small list of standards and I just wanted to have an idea of how they look compared to other mills. As I said, I'm happy to experiment with a few unknowns. I know that Barb has mentioned them at some point. so if anyone knows where I can see some pictures I would be grateful

    thanks

I've got a sample swatch book of their "reproduction" tartans they stock in a 12 oz weight. Have you contacted them? You could possibly get sample swatches sent out to you.

Just FYI, here are some other kilts I've made using Dalgleish cloth:

If you are interested in seeing their dress tartans, you can look at the thumbnails at

    http://www.highlandxpress.com/tviewer.html

All of the tartans listed without a supplier in parentheses come from Dalgliesh.
