The FUNNIEST, but the one with the most "potential" is the guy in the belted plaid.
get rid of the SHINY shirt and get appropriate footwear, he COULD actually make a half-way decent "Ren-faire" era highlander.
Most are just comical typical ren-faire costumes.

    YOUR'S actually looks good.

Agreed. I liked the tartan pattern, and the concept was sound. I agree about the shirt and foot wear, also. A good concept brought down by bad application.

    Thanks.

That photo was taken in Rockland, ME, after we left the first of two days of Down East Pirate Days. It was a pirate festival put on by some fellow members of New England Rennies. The festival went from brainstorm to fruition in a grand total of 12 weeks. It was put on as a free event, but donations were requested. Almost all monies generated at the gate and through a couple raffles and a "treasure hunt" went to the Maine chapter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation. With very little advertising, they managed to get enough people that they raised $2000 just at the gate.
The outfit consisted of a pair of leather pirate boots, a black gauze Jacobite shirt (slightly modified at the neck to look more "piratey"), a black corduroy frock coat with gray microfiber trim (which had skulls and crossbones embossed on it), the cavalier hot, and my solid black SWK with a gray suede CroMag Rob Roy style sporran.
The next day found me in the same boots, the same shirt, same hat, but with my Irish National SWK and the same sporran.

I can't get the link to work, and I can't find the "voting place" on the CT ren. fest. site.

Sorry... I forgot to post that the contest ended Friday evening. As of the last time I had a chance to look, I had won. I have yet to get any confirmation, but I hope it come's soon as we're heading down to Hebron, CT, come Saturday to catch opening day!
