Now I am shattered. Ron doesn't own a pink thong and Steve has no plans for dreadlocks.

I shall go and have a beverage while I meditate on why it is so painful when our heroes tarnish.

But the Jackets are kickin'. Hope to order a hagrid size next spring or so. I like the FK vision of modern kilting as well.

Have to say though, I wear my cargo mostly for manual labor and "grunge" formal. Have gotten more compliments on my FK than any other in my limited kollection.

THat is, I think Fk works as well for ultra casual as Casual. Have also worn it Business Casual style and gotten compliments on it as well.

That is quite the nice jacket. The question I have, being more a ultra-casual sorta guy, is what makes this jacket unique or different from a normal off the rack grey sports coat?

Well Sean, the answer is quit simple. A normal sport coat is too long when worn with a kilt.

To show off the pleats, kilt jackets are cut so the hem extends no lower than the bottom of the Fell. They are also cut away in the front so they do not interfere with the sporran.

If you put on a normal jacket and look at the length of the hem in relation to the sleeve you will find that the hem is significantly lower than the sleeve. This is to cover and hide the butt and the wrinkle in the back where the legs begin.

On a kilt-cut jacket the hem will be about the same as the sleeve length. Because there is no wrinkle in the back of a kilt, as there is with trousers, but lovely pleats and we don't need to hide that area but want to show it off.

My Kilt-Cut Sports Jacket differs from a normal Argyle type of jacket in that I have removed all the extra details such as gauntlet cuffs, epaulets, and scalloped pocket flaps that to most people these days scream costume or formal wear. I also used normal sport coat buttons instead of fancy silver or horn to further "dress-down" the look.

Yes, many of our members have cut down sport coats to achieve the same look and some of them have been wonderful. But that level of sewing experience is beyond the norm. So I thought to offer a made from scratch jacket with the same features. If you will look at some of the posts of those who have finished their DIY jackets you will see that they were going for the same jacket I now offer.

    Excellent work Steve.

Can we also please get a definition between pink and maroon, just to keep everything on the up and up around here? You never can tell, someone just might be looking for a matching jacket.

And posting images of that kilt crosses the line into cruel and unusual punishment territory.
